The Summerhill House Hotel sits just above the most charming village of Enniskerry  in the garden county of Wicklow and offers an ambudance of activities and attractions to enjoy during your stay.  There are many things to do in Wicklow - Weather you enjoy an afternoon stroll or good days hill walking there are many options available you can choose from guided walks (prebooked) to exploring the countryside yourself.  Other popular local activities include Horse riding for which there are a number of riding schools nearby including Brennanstown and Glendalough Equestrian Centre. You can enjoy a round of Golf at one of the many golf courses located nearby which include Powerscourt, Druids Glen, Bray, Delgany, Glen of the Downs to name but a few.

Shopping is available locally in the village, nearby Bray or Greystones and nearby Dundrum Shopping Centre as well as Dublin city centre.  Some of the other family activities include and if you do not see something you would like to do just let us know and we can find out more for you. Walking in Wicklow

You can enjoy an afternoon stroll around one of the many houses or gardens in the county including Powerscourt, Kilruddery and Mount Usher all located nearby. By prior arrangement we can also book guided walks with experienced local guides (an additional fee will apply) There are also a number of lovely forest walks including Knocksink Woods, Avondale Forest Park, Devils Glen, Djouce Woods, Lacken Woods, Glen of the Downs, Crone Woods, Kindlestown Woods. More challenging walks include The Wicklow Way One of the most spectacular walks that Ireland boasts is the extensive Wicklow Way, starting in Dublin and extending as far as Carlow. This beautiful trail contains an impressive 132km of unspoilt mountainous trails.

The Wicklow Way follows a North-South line over the eastern flanks of the Wicklow Mountains. The walk is very extensive and is a beautiful combination of parkland, forests, mountains and countryside. It is a demanding hike, which requires adequate preparation. The is also the Wicklow Mountains national Park This includes large areas of mountain blanket bogs, including the Lugnaquilla and Liffey Head Bog complexes and Glendalough Wood Nature Reserve. Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk Stunning sea cliffs, abundant wildlife and a fantastic walk. Great Sugar Loaf Walk Easy walk to one of the best views in the Dublin Area. The Great Sugar Loaf overlooks the town of Bray, with views over Dublin Bay and the Irish Sea, and the Wicklow Mountains.

Walking in Wicklow will take you through a surprising variety of terrain, including colourful heather-covered moorland, airy ridges, ancient woodland and glaciated river valleys. Despite its obvious attractions, the area still maintains a feeling of tranquillity and wild natural beauty - the perfect place to unwind.
