ORDER OF EVENTS FOR THE DAY
The Ceremony Which takes approximately one hour.
Photographs Taken outside the ceremony venue. Photographs can also be taken in a variety of locations in the Hotel, along our tree lined driveway or in the gardens.
Guests arrive at the Summerhill House Hote Guests arrive for pre-dinner drinks & canapé and our special Chocolate Fountain.
Arrival of the Bride & Groom The Bride & Groom will be welcomed at the hotel entrance with a complimentary glass of champagne and red carpet by our management team. At your leisure you can mingle with your guests until the dinner bell sounds for you to take your seats.
Dinner Call The Summerhill House Hotel Head Waiter will call dinner, 15 minutes before dinner is served.
Bride & Groom are announced Once all your guests are seated for dinner, the Bride and Grooms' entry into the Wedding Banquet, is heralded by the hotel piper.
Dinner Dinner will be served by our experienced Banqueting Team under the close supervision of our Banqueting Manager and Head Chef.
Bride & Groom cut the cake Either before or after the speeches, the Bestman, announces the cutting of the Wedding Cake. Once the first cut of the cake is made, the cake is cut and served to the guests.
Speeches & Toast A brief session of speeches will follow the meal. The Bride's father speaks first to toast the couple. The Groom replies on behalf of his bride and thanks the bride's parents for the wedding, the guests for their presents and then toasts the bridesmaid. The best man replies on behalf of the bridesmaid, and reads out any messages sent by people unable to attend. It is usual to present Flower Bouquets to the respective mothers.
Band/DJ Band or DJ will start entertainment for the evening. Should you require any assistance in selecting your evenings entertainment we would be happy to help.
Evening Guests Arrive Evening guests will begin to arrive. To facilitate your evening guests we would recommend light refreshments.
Bride & Grooms' departure The bestman announces the departure of the Bride and Groom. The Bride throws her wedding bouquet.
