Our daughter's wedding was held on the Sunday of the October Bank holiday weekend in this hotel and we cannot thank the staff and the management of the hotel enough for the wonderful care and attention to detail and the really friendly staff to whom nothing was "too much trouble" which greatly added to the wonderful location with its roaring fires, excellent food, beautiful function room,so much so that we hardly noticed that the weather was wet and windy. The whole wedding experience was a great success with both sides of the families joining up and celebrating the occasion in an amazingly friendly atmostphere with a wonderful team of people to look after them. Very well to done to all the wonderful people at the Summerhill House Hotel you were first class.

From the moment I viewed the Summerhill House Hotel I decided straight away that it was the perfect location for my wedding day.
As any bride I wanted the day to be perfect and I had a lot of my own ideas that I wanted to incorporate into the hotel and I was rather bossy to the management on what I exactly wanted. I cannot tell you how amazing all the staff are at the Summerhill House Hotel. I find it hard to put into words on how our wedding day went! It was just AMAZING and that's thanks to the hard work and dedication and professionalism of all who work there.
They had our day running like clock work and they allowed me to change aspects of the venue to suit my style on the day.
If you are looking for a perfect wedding day at a beautiful venue with staff who go above and beyond for you this is the hotel to book with,I can't imagine why any bride wouldn't want to get married here.
It's not often that I go out of my way to write a testimonial for an establishment but I just had to write to you! For one of the most important days of your life you want it to be very special and you will find it at the Summerhill House Hotel in Beautiful Enniskerry.
Thankyou from the bottom of my heart to Aidan and all the staff for making our day an unforgettable experience we will treasure.

“Wedding Spectacular” The wedding of the year ? Great day from start to finish , What a wedding ceremony ! Excellent!! Spectacular ! The approach to the entrance to this hotel is hidden by lovely foliage and a sight never to forget when first glimpsed . Then greeted by a glass of wine and a riproaring fire welcomed the Bride and Groom and party to this beautiful hotel in a Gorgeous setting ( Adjacent to the famous Powerscourt estate no less) with specatular countryside views . The Meal was so that all tastes were provided for with no fuss or to do ! Waiters and waitresses galore > no waiting between courses and all delivered with professional courtesy. The dining room was magnificent and provided ample room to allow for a band and dancing until the early hours of the next morning, Drinks on the go and food provided if and when necessary. then up to a bedroom that had all the necessities at hand. Quiet and peace allowed for a lovely nights sleep,

Wedding Reception and Accommodation at Summerhill”
Thanks to you and the team at Summerhill House for making our wedding such an enjoyable day. We really appreciate the support we received from you and the team.
We and our guests were very impressed by the high level of organisation and excellent service on the day. The food and drink was outstanding and enjoyed by all the guests. The staff of Summerhill were a pleasure to deal with. We received so much support from them throughout the day. We are very grateful for their efforts.
We have received so much positive feedback from our guests regarding the wedding. We are delighted to hear that all our guests had a memorable day and enjoyed the festivities. We would be pleased to recommend Summerhill as a wedding venue for any our friends and family.
“Daughters wedding day.”Our daughters wedding took place at the summer hill house 20th July 2012. Thankyou so much to all the staff, from booking the wedding to the run up to the wedding to the wedding day, FANTASTIC..... All the staff are great, friendily, helpful, professonel. and they care about the guests. The food and service were exellent and we would highly recommend this hotel. Our guests were also very impressed with the exellent service. We booked in the day before the wedding for a family pre wedding dinner once again exellent, the staff, food and service. THANKYOU
We got married in the Summerhill in February of this year and myself and husband could not have asked for more. From our initial inquiry,to weddings and civil ceremonies to the day of the wedding, the staff were so helpful and were willing to do anything to help us and take out some of the stress that was involved. We chose the winter package for our wedding and the value was unbeatable, other hotels charged extra for chair covers, wine etc. but this was all included in the price. And the chocolate fountain was the highlight of the cocktail reception. (the cocktails were delicious!!!) The gardens offered a beautiful setting for photos and the lounges made for some lovely, relaxed pictures. We had various dietary requirements for a number of guests (vegan & coeliac to start) and all of the guests loved the choice the we're given, with some asking for seconds! Our wedding was in the hotel itself, and while the hotel advertises a 3pm check-in our ceremony was due to start at 3:30. To accommodate our guests and their requirements they facilitated early check-in for all our guests. Overall a fantastic hotel and great value. We could not have asked for better. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. If we were to get married again we would pick the same venue again. Thanks to all the staff who gave us such a memorable day.
I had my wedding here in Spring 2012. I had been to other weddings here and always enjoyed them as a guest. From first enquiry to settling our bill we couldn't have been happier. We got a very good deal for a mid week wedding and felt that their all inclusive package was excellent value for money. We also managed to swap a few items in the package that we didn't want for a couple of guest rooms.
I was surprised to read that another reviewer paid €160 for a room as a wedding guest. Our guests paid €55 or €65 pp b&b and kids were free.
On our wedding day all areas of the hotel were beautifully decorated with rose bowls and candles. Lillies and candles on every table for the banquet. I thought the food was nice and catering manager couldn't have been more accomodating at our tasting menu - giving us wine to take home and try and catering for some unusual guest needs.
The staff were all very friendly and resident's bar remained open until about 3:30. The breakfast staff were really lovely and continued to treat us very well for the couple of days we stayed after the wedding. Breakfast was very nice too and because the hotel is small the wedding party does take over. It is a great wedding venue as you pretty much take over the entire house without paying through the nose for it - in fact when all of the extras are added up it worked out cheaper than most Dublin wedding venues but with much more character, extras and special touches.
We did have problems with the microphones for speeches, that should be fixed by management if it hasn't already been fixed. Everything else was perfect for us. The common areas of the hotel are full of character and very cosy. The bedrooms are spacious and clean, more 3* than 4* but overall I found the wedding package to be unbeatable. Thanks to all of the staff!
We selected the Summerhill after visiting many hotels in south Dublin/North Wicklow. We picked the Summerhill for a few reasons, small intimate venue, very attentive management who took an interest in us from day 1, one wedding a day, virtually a private venue, small hotel feel, traditional decor, great value and flexibility re arrangements /menu/wine. While not far freom Dublin and M50, it gave us a very country feel and all our guests were impressed by the location, the way the hotel looked great on the day, and the meal was outstanding. No attention to detail was spared and we had a magnificent day to remember. Holding a cilvil ceremony on site made it a simper, to host a one venue event, which made it easier, especially for older guests. We can highly recommend it for yuor wedding, ask for Orla to look after you!
Sean & Jill October 2011.
Dear Orla, just a quick email to again thank you and your staff for what really
was the best day of our lives and as all our guests commented the best wedding celebration
ever. Good luck for the future. Kind regards Paul and Joy McElwaine August 2011
- Maura and Michael We had our wedding reception in the Summerhill House Hotel in November 2010. From the moment we booked this hotel, the staff were a pleasure to deal with, in particular Shane, Daniel and Orla. The hotel went above and beyond to help us have the most perfect day. Every detail was taken care of, from the cosy fires and candles to the chocolate fountain. We could not have wished for a better day, from the moment we stepped into the hotel to the moment we left nothing was too much trouble. We would absolutely recommend this hotel as a wedding venue.
A huge thank you to all staff for making our wedding wonderful.
- We had our wedding here (Civil Ceremony in the Hotel and reception afterwards) and I cannot praise this venue highly enough. From the moment we first spoke to staff when we decided to pick the Summerhill, the staff could not have been more helpful, pleasant, easy to deal with and made our big day absolute perfection.
While the restaurant was a bit cramped, we did have almost 200 guests so we knew this would happen, but none of our guests complained. Previous negative reviews of the hotel rooms (on this site) proved groundless as everybody stated how pleased they were with their room.
The food on the day itself was magnificent, the service was top class, while there was a bit of a mix-up over one of our wine selections, this was rectified with a massive apology and a better wine in the end! Anything we asked for, we got, any potential headache was removed (apart from guests hangovers). Reception was bedlam due to the guests arriving but staff dealt with them patiently and courteously and indeed one of our party left her mobile after we left and the receptionist called to our house to return it. A singsong in the residents bar afterwards was allowed, encouraged and accomodated, putting the seal on a memorable day/night.
In short, if you are thinking of having your wedding here, don't think any longer, book it.
We will remember our wedding day/night with nothing but thanks and appreciation to The Summerhill House. Thanks.
- Our Wedding the best weekend ever: We had our wedding at the Summerhill House on sat. 25th September 2010. From the time we booked the hotel, 18 months earlier, until we left, on the Monday morning following the wedding, the staff of the hotel bent over backwards to make sure everything we wanted for our special weekend was perfect. The service was excellent, everyone who came to the wedding(150 people!) was very well looked after. I would recommend Summerhill House to anyone, either as a wedding venue, or simply as a country getaway destination. 10 out of 10!
- A suberb Wedding Venue: An absolutely stunning location, amazing venue and myself, my husband and all of our family and friends from all over the UK and Ireland, were extremely impressed. There were two very minor things we could have picked on but the Overall experience and dedication of the staff, just could not justify me saying anything bad about this hotel or staff. I am gobsmacked at the bad reviews for this hotel. The staff really did completely go out of their way to make us happy. Nothing was too big or small. They were very relaxed and calm and sometimes to the point where we thought, it won't get done but it was better than expected and I think this calmness added to the overall day. I felt like I got married in my own country mansion. Staff were informal yet professionally formal - hard to explain but I felt so at home on my wedding day. Food was raved about by our guests. We physically married in the hotel and it was set up beautifully. I would recommend the Four C's for after the ceremony - Canapes, Cocktails, Champagne and Chocolate fountain - it was spectacular sipping Champagne in the garden with the sun shining down. Reception was a BLAST! Great size room and dance floor. I just want to get married in this hotel again!!!! So many happy memories. Thank you.
- Went to a wedding in the Summerhill last week and both of us were truly impressed with the hotel and wedding reception that they laid on. It was a great wedding anyway and although the weather was brutal and had a devestating effect on the numbers that made it, the snow did provide a picture perfect background in the Dublin Mountains. The homely effect of the open fires downstairs, friendly staff, lovely big bedrooms with a super view, fantastic food and a great athmosphere all added to a very enjoyable and good value stay in the Summerhill House Hotel.
